Hiking in Serfaus: On Tyrol's most Beautiful Hiking Trails
Experience hiking holidays in the Tyrolean mountains: Serfaus is situated at 1,400 metres above sea level and connected to Fiss, Ladis and the mountains via a generous network of hiking trails. More than 50 well marked walking and hiking trails lead over fragrant mead-ows, pass evergreen forests and go along babbling brooks. There are trails for every abil-ity level. The hiking region Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis has everything a hiker could possibly wish for. But you don't always have to go for the high Alpine option, either: there are also plenty of short, interesting routes to choose from in the mountains around the villages Serfaus, Fiss and Ladis. And of course ambitious mountaineers and hikers can also look forward to chal-lenging tours of local summits.
- Gentle, well signposted trails through woodland and meadows will delight hikers at altitudes between 1,200 and 1,400 m above sea level.
- The air becomes even more rarefied as you proceed up to the tree line at about 2,000 m above sea level. This is where pleasant panoramic trails merge with hiking routes to get to fantastic observation decks.
- You’ll find yourself on equal terms with the giant peaks at 3,000 m above sea level, where the hiking trails lead from summit to summit.
Guided Tours in Tyrol
Nationally certified mountain guides offer a varied hiking programme from June to October so you can reach the most beautiful and worth seeing places in the region. The tours are planned for hikers with some fitness to be easily managed without special knowledge or skills. The hiking tours will be published in the weekly programmes (obtainable in all of our tourist offices). Registration takes place in the tourist offices or directly at the moun-tain guides or the alpine schools.
Hiking Holidays with the Family
Several hiking trails offer special adventures for the whole family. The Murmli Trail (suita-ble for buggies) is an interactive trail for the whole family.
The Experience Trail 'Six Senses' in Serfaus is a newly designed trail involving all senses. Playful stations fascinate children and adults likewise. Breathtaking views along the trail are a feast for the eyes and remind us what a privilege it is to be able to enjoy the sense of sight.
The Family Trail cuts through a wood and requires both skill and knowledge. On this trail, which is suitable for the whole family, children can even turn the tables on the grown-ups for once.
At the Fiss Energy & Senses Trail five power places entice you to stop and linger a while. The easy trail leads along jagged rocks, tender flowers, enchanted trees and mystic lakes – towards inner harmony.
The Murmli Cave is a special adventure for the young and the old. The sophisticated un-derground cave system gives insights into the hidden world of marmots. The labyrinth is modelled after a marmot den and allows curious explorers to learn more about the living conditions of the lively Alpine animal.
